Shady Co. was born from a simple observation of our beaches: the common discomfort of beach-goers shielding their faces with towels, books, or hats to escape the glare of the harsh African sun. We saw an opportunity to elevate this moment of leisure through a bespoke, ground-up design process that honours both form and function.
Our journey is a celebration of local excellence, rooted in local craftsmanship. Every Shady is a collaboration between Cape Townian carpenters who handle our precision joinery and a local non-profit seamstress organization that brings our locally milled, UV-resistant materials to life. It is a partnership dedicated to the art of the long afternoon, crafted by locally skilled hands, to serve the comfort you deserve and protect you from the sun, where it matters.
